BMW had range of new vehicles lined up for the Indian market, which it displayed at the currently ongoing Auto Expo in Delhi. First up is the new X1 ‘baby SUV,’ which will be launched in India by the end of this year. The vehicle will imported in the form of CKD kits and assembled at BMW’s plant near Chennai.
BMW also showed the rather controversially styled 5 Series Grand Turismo, which will be launched in India as a limited edition model, with only 100 units of this vehicle – priced at Rs 63 lakh – making it to our shores.
Finally, the new BMW X6 M high-performance ‘Sports Activity Coupe’ and twin-turbo V12-engined BMW 760Li long-wheelbase luxury sedan were also shown at the Auto Expo, and will now be available at BMW’s showrooms in India. The two cars are priced at Rs 1.30 crore and Rs 1.29 crore (ex-showroom) respectively.
